We Uffizi'd it!

Day 19 in Italia. Day 6 in Firenze.

Today we spent the morning at the Uffizi museum. Incredible, history filled building including Bottichelli's The Birth of Venus. It's always amazing to see a famous painting in real life.

Our afternoon was filled exploring a new area and we passed through, around, beside, in front and behind the Ponte Vecchio.

Everyday is new, different and fabulous along with every meal. We're up and out early and then, at about 1pm, we've taken to having long lazy (multi-course and minorly boozy) lunches lasting about 2 to 3 hours. We try different things for primi but often succumb to a tagliatelle con ragù or ravioli or cappelletti or tortellini for secondi. Thoroughly enjoying the local Chianti. Again some plagiarism below for your reading (and educational) benefit.

Since 1996 the blend for Chianti and Chianti Classic has been 75-100% Sangiovese, up to 10% CNaiolo and up to 20% of any other approved red grape variety such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot or Sarah. Since 2006, the use of white table grape varieties such as Malvasia and Trebbiano have been prohibited in Chianti Classic.
